Sites that have been online for many years understand the need of inbound links and develop substantial number of links. That’s the reason they rank better than new created sites and get noticed by their prospects.

For a brand new website, it is quite difficult to attract links and acknowledge their presence to search engine and human visitor as well. Let’s take a look how a new website can generate links, and do so without spending too much time.

Press Release distribution: Double Take
An excellent way of letting people know about launch of your website and service is issue a press release. A press release for link building purposes helps increase your site’s traffic, gets more eyes on your brand and encourages people to link to you. This is all incredibly important for the popularity factor of your Web pages.

There are many great press release distribution services available that will increase your brand visibility and inbound links as well.

Request Link in All Communications:
You can use your emails for link building

. Whenever you send any business email, you can add your link request. If you can not directly ask for links add your service feature to catch reader’s attention.

This will be a call to action for reader to get into your site and recommend others to visit. Chances are low that this technique would produce a link but it could increase your brand awareness. That will further help you in link building, as people voluntarily give you a link if this adds value to their site.

Get listed in Reputable directories:
Directory submission is very old- fashioned link building technique. Now, experts would not recommend directory submission and the reason is, “low-quality” directories are less credible because of their sources. However, look at reputable directories like Yahoo! Directory, Best of the Web, Business.com. They can still pack a punch if done right.

Also, you can target reputed local directories and specific directories like Google local. Typically, the more specific a directory is, the higher its value.

Target thematically relevant sites:
One of the best ways to build quality link is links from thematically relevant websites. Theses sites may or may not be your direct competitors. Link on those sites help you to index your website in search engines. Getting links from those sites is time consuming and tedious process.

You can do it yourself if you have time and patience, of course. If not, you can hire an experienced link building service providers. They develop link faster because of their established linking networks and relationship with webmasters.

To wrap up, I’d say first impression counts, so be careful who’s linking to you. Focus on links that add value to your website either in terms of traffic or ranking.

I agree. Its hard for brand new sites to gain rankings. I think its very important to keep your inbound links from theme relevant sites. Its also important to create quality and unique content right from the start to attract natural one way links.
